I am currently in the process of completing my Masters thesis, which involves performing research into better understanding the social experience of online video gaming, particularly as a new arena for socialisation, from a uniquely South African perspective.
However, in order to do so, I need your help.
South Africans are a buzz. One of the world’s biggest rock bands is performing on South African soil.
That’s right folks U2 is here and, believe it or not (I still cannot), I was privileged enough to crack an elusive invitation to an exclusive behind the scenes look at the inner workings of the U2 360° Tour.
For those who still do not know, U2, one of the world’s biggest rock bands, will be hitting South African shores in a little under 360 hours from today.
To be precise, U2 will be performing to a sold out crown of sweaty palmed South Africans in exactly 300 hours from the time of this post (yes, I worked it out).
The best part? You could win a set of double tickets to either the Johannesburg or Cape Town shows as well as other incredible prizes.
Part one of the epic two part finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was great. But it left everyone wanting more.
The experience is not unlike being taken to a lavish all expenses paid three course meal and, just before dessert is served, you are told that you have to leave. Worst of all, we are forced to wait an additional eight months for our just desserts.
In addition to the unfortunate wait, it goes without saying that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is not a word for word recreation of JK Rowling’s exquisite books. Instead it is a artistically thoughtful recreation.
However, just like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince, this is by no means a bad thing.
Time and time again I am asked how I managed to obtain access to a US iTunes store account. Well, the answer is fairly simple. I just created one.
